Lisa supports the Development team in Bay Area as their Grant Writer. She researches potential grants, writes grant proposals and reports on grants to grant organizations – all in an effort to share the work There With Care does and raise awareness in the community.
She started as a volunteer at There With Care, and appreciated the flexibility they offered as a volunteer – welcoming her back any time she needed to take a break. She’s worked at other nonprofits, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Oregon. In addition, she has experience working at daily newspapers. This combination of nonprofit and communications experience allows her to share There With Care’s mission in a caring, compelling way.
Lisa’s passion for the mission of supporting families and children facing a critical illness comes through in her role as Grant Writer. In building relationships with funders and writing grant proposals, Lisa shares how the community comes together to give families in a medical crisis not only everyday necessities, but also more time together. Having worked on both Volunteer and Communications teams at There With Care, as well as volunteering for 9 years for the organization, she shares firsthand knowledge of how staff and volunteers collaborate to ease the stresses facing families.
