Sandra is a Bay Area native who spent her childhood in Los Altos. She attended U.C Berkeley where she earned her B.A. in Molecular and Cell Biology. While at Berkeley, she spent years tutoring and mentoring at-risk youth in the Berkeley school system. She worked in laboratory research and bioinformatics for pharmaceutical companies. Sandra focused on antiviral drug discovery at Gilead Sciences. She used and programmed laboratory robotics to screen drug compounds on HCV cell systems.
Sandra had a close family member go through a medical crisis with extended stays in local hospitals. After experiencing the isolation, helplessness and trauma, Sandra is passionate about working to provide thoughtful services to families in the hopes of alleviating their hardship. Sandra and her husband Harry live in Atherton and have three young children.
